Along with a beach, boat ramp and lake front picnic area, Lake Anna State Park has more than 15 miles of trails with opportunities for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The 2,300-acre park is the site of a historic gold mine and guided tours of Goodwin Gold Mine are available. The park also has a fish pond for children and hosts family events throughout the summer.
Virginia’s premiere theme park Kings Dominion is located in nearby Doswell. Soak City Water Park and Planet Snoopy are part of Kings Dominion along with thrilling rides, family activities and live entertainment. Doswell is approximately 30 miles from the Lake Anna.
The National Military Park in Fredericksburg is a quick drive from the lodge. Its visitor center showcases local Civil War history. Other nearby sites include the home of George Washington’s sister built in the 1700s and the 40-block Fredericksburg Historic District.
