We discovered Lake Anna, Virginia by accident while driving through the state of VA and taking back roads to avoid the highways. The Lake is beautiful and quite large. Most of the shore line is either wooded or has water-front homes. Lake Anna is located in a remotely populated part of the state and surrounded (primarily) by state parks, farms, undeveloped land and residential areas.

If you enjoy the best craft beer and wine Virginia has to offer, you should attend the Lake Anna Grapes and Grains Festival! The festival will be held on October 10, 2015, from 12 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Christopher Run Campground Event Park in Mineral, Virginia. The festival is sponsored by a nonprofit company called Lake Anna United. Lake Anna United supports community growth by holding special events and raising money. Attending this festival is a great way to support the local community and enjoy the many different craft beers and wines of the region.
Regular admission tickets are $25 if you purchase them online but $35 at the gate. With your ticket, you will also receive a tasting bracelet that ensures you’ll be able to sample beer and wine. Guests will also receive a souvenir pint glass. If you’d like to purchase beer for your pint glass, you must purchase a beer ticket. Each guest can purchase up to five tickets. Designated drivers can purchase an admission ticket for $10. Regular admission guests may be admitted to the festival starting at 1 PM. Children under 13 are free, but those aged from 13-20 must purchase a Youth Ticket for $5.
There is also a VIP ticket option for $45 online and $55 at the gate. In addition to the souvenir pint glass and tasting bracelet, VIP guests will also receive a t-shirt commemorating the event. VIP guests will also have access to special parking by the gate, get to enjoy the “First Pour” at 12 PM, and will be allowed to enter the VIP Special Keg Tent.
In addition to craft breweries and wineries, local food vendors will also be in attendance. Gifts and other unique items from local artisans will be for sale. You can enjoy your craft beer and wine while enjoying live music from two different bands. Even if you don’t drink alcohol, you can still have fun and enjoy the local flavor during the festival.
